Body Wisdom

Body Wisdom: Understanding and Healing Trauma

6-Week Closed Yoga Therapy Group Series

Who this is for: Self-identified women, ages 19+

Group Guidelines

Our group is held with a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, respect, and individual autonomy. To support this, we invite all participants to honor the following guidelines:

  • Confidentiality: What is shared in the group remains private to create a trusting and secure environment for everyone.
  • Respect for Boundaries: Each person’s physical, emotional, and energetic boundaries are recognized and honored without judgment or expectation.
  • Choice and Consent: You are invited, but never required, to participate in any activity or discussion. Your right to make choices about your body and engagement is central to the group experience.
  • No Physical Contact: To uphold safety and respect, there will be no hands-on adjustments or physical touch from the therapist or other group members.
  • Creating a Safe Space: Please arrive a few minutes before the start time, minimize distractions, and silence devices to help maintain a calm and focused atmosphere.
  • Self-Regulation: If you notice feelings of discomfort or overwhelm, you are encouraged to use grounding strategies, take breaks, or step out as needed. Your well-being is the highest priority.
  • Compassionate Listening: We ask everyone to hold themselves and others with kindness and openness, fostering an environment of mutual support and understanding.

These guidelines support a respectful, empowering space where healing and connection can naturally arise.

6-Week Closed Yoga Therapy Group Series

Our closed 6-week yoga therapy group offers a supportive, intimate space for healing and connection. Before the series begins, each participant completes an individualized intake to ensure the group is a good fit and to tailor the experience to everyone’s needs. Groups are kept small, between 6 and 8 participants, and remain consistent throughout the six weeks, allowing members to build trust and a sense of community.

Each 90-minute session includes 40 minutes of psychoeducation and group sharing, providing tools and insights to support nervous system regulation and emotional well-being. After a short 5-minute break, the group moves into 40 minutes of trauma-sensitive yoga therapy, where gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness are practiced collaboratively. The series is designed to cultivate safety, choice, and empowerment in a nurturing group environment.
